We will be starting the Ministry English final exam this week. It is very important that your child does not miss school during the month of May. The exam is long and must be followed in sequence. If your child misses school the class can not stop doing the exam in order for your child to catch up… If your child misses school they will have to spend their recesses and lunch hour working on the exam in the class. Parts of the exam are doing in groups and involve class discussions, this can not be redone at a later time.

There are only 8 weeks of school left to the year. In this time we also have the class trip and graduation for the grade 6 students. More information will be coming home on these two topics soon.

This is also the time of year when I need to make the final decision as to who will progress to the next grade and who needs more time to learn the material. Many students in the class still owe me assignments that were never handed in (some as far back as Jan). It is important that all the assignments are done, and that I see that your child is taking his responsibilities at school seriously.
